Rain Forests are a wonderful, vibrant and thriving ecosystem. As time passes old trees fall and new ones begin to grown. Often times the new trees will grow right on top of the fallen, using the older tree for nutrients and to get a jump start on life. I’m not sure is there is any more clear and example of the ‘circle of life’.

On a very cold and rainy afternoon I came across an old fallen tree, it must have been laying here for years. On top was a new tree starting to grow but a few branches where hanging down. I feel in love with the contrast, the new life of the bright green branch directly opposed to the dark red of the older fallen tree. The fact that everything was wet just helped bring it all to life.
