There are many stunning photos taken from beaches in Hawaii. I set out to make something different, something that would stand out. On this August day it had been raining on and off and the sky was still filled with storm clouds as sunset grew closer. I setup my composition around an hour before sunset and waited. I took photos the entire way through, and just before the sun would have gone below the horizon it peaked through the clouds. This added a warm light to the rocks, and a crazy red light to the water crashing in front of me. I created this image blend of a number of moments throughout the sunset. You can see the flowing water on the left, and the spray frozen in the air with the red light on it. The rocks are warm, and the stormy sky adds interest and contrast to the scene.
