Just outside of Page AZ you’ll find Navajo Mountain, standing an impressive 10,388 tall. In the wintertime the mountain is covered in snow. I spent a great deal of time looking for the best possible vantage point to photograph this mountain. There are many to chose from and I was torn. On our last night in Page I settled on the top of another nearby mountain.

I composed an image with Navajo Mountain in the dead center, I had rain clouds dumping water and snow in the distance. In the foreground I have these great rock formations. As the sun was setting the light and shadows from the clouds kept shifting. This is a composite work, taking all the best and most interesting times of sunset to create a single surreal image.
