Though not a very large park, the Valley of Fire in Nevada is someplace I will never grow tired of. I again had time before a late night flight so we headed up to this park. It was an odd time in Las Vegas, it had been raining a lot and I was hoping for some wonderful sunset color and clouds.

I came up to the Fire Canyon area and waited for sunset. I created this image maybe 30 minutes before the actual sunset. As the son was low in the horizon it was casting this incredibly warm light over the rocks in the foreground and the clouds in the sky. The layers of rocks and color in front of me create a super interesting image and the parting clouds create for a dramatic image.
