I imagine that most people would venture out to the Seal Rock State Park to photograph sunset. This would make a lot of sense as the sun would set over the ocean. However, I spent 3 mornings in a row on this lovely small beach and found sunrise to be an amazing time. Each morning we found ourselves alone on the beach with only the sound of the waves. It was peaceful and still and the perfect chance to focus on making something special.

Just before the dawn broke and the first light cracked the horizon the sky stated to come alive. The almost full moon was setting over the Pacific ocean and I created this image. The tide was still coming in and crashing over the rocks in front of me, and the reflected light from the clouds cast a warm red glow onto everything.
