There are a number of Z Trees scattered around the Everglades National Park. This is likely the most well known as its rather easy to find. Others can be hidden deep in the wetlands. They are man-made markers for navigation that take us back to a time before there were any roads or trails in the area. Since most of them are deep into the forest and surrounded by other trees they do not lend themselves to easy photography.

I came here at sunrise and was lucky that I had great light just before the dawn. The tree had a great reflection in the high water from the recent rains and a single bird perched directly in front me me.
