As I drove into Indiana Dunes National Park just before the dawn, the weather was not looking good. It had rained on and off all night but I was hoping to get some color in the sky when the sun came up. I drove to Mount Baldy, a massive 126ft tall “wandering sand dune”. The massive dune has been moving for sometime, the trees you see in my photo are not growing out of the dune, rather they have been swallowed by the dune. I was very lucky on this spring morning to get just a little hint of color as the sun broke free from the horizon. The warm tones of the sky are in lovely contrast to the dark trees and sand.
