We love the Valley of Fire and while it's stunning and beautiful it also poses many challenges for photographers. First, it’s a very easy to access location so there is a lot of great work already out there. Second, it's a very feature rich location, making senses busy and hard to isolate a single subject. 

The weather in southern Nevada had been very wet for the past few weeks. This is of course super unusual. On this rather cold early winter morning I was treated to light rain and fog. I was able to compose and create this very interesting and different image for this park. As you look at the photo the rocks change color and shape as you go from near to far and drop off almost entirely in the distance.
