This large collection of peaks known as the Towers of the Virgin is a classic sunrise location in Zion. With sweeping views of the West Temple, the Sundial, the Towers of the Virgin, and ending with the Altar of Sacrifice.  However, on this day with the storms and clouds I chose a much different time of day to come here. 

I created this work late in the afternoon as the winter storm was breaking apart (only to return later as it turns out).  As I walked back into the valley I had to work quickly, the light and clouds were changing by the minute. I wanted to create a large panorama of the entire valley, including all the famous peaks.  Parts of the valley were still in shadow while others awash in light. The clouds were just breaking free of the mountain tops where they had just deposited fresh snow.
