In western Texas a hair away from the boarder with New Mexico you can find the Guadalupe Mountains National Park. Part of the Chihuahuan Desert, the park is known for its bright-white Salt Basin Dunes, rich grasslands and mountains. The park boasts the highest point in all of Texas, Guadalupe Peak at 8,751 feet.

Our time in the Guadalupe Mountains was marked by constant rain and storms. This evening was no exception and even with the high wind I tried to make the most of the situation. We came across this wonderful high desert grass land, light through the clouds to create a deep contrast. The high peaks in the distance are covered in low flying clouds.
