With over 2,000 arches in Arches National Park, you have a plethora of choices, but Delicate Arch is the arch one everyone wants to see. It is a three-mile round trip hike to get to this stunning arch with a decent amount of elevation gain to go with it. For this photo I knew it was a sunrise spot, the light would be great and there would not be (as many) people. Allowing me to capture this arch in all its natural beauty. Scale is very hard to photograph but the arch itself is huge, the opening beneath the arch is 45ft high and 32ft wide. Even doing the hike before sunrise, in the pitch black with headlamps you'll still find many people with you on the trail. The quiet beauty of the desert and experiencing the first light of day is a draw for many. In this photo I had great soft lighting throughout the entire sunrise and had just a hint of color right along the horizon.
