Theodore Roosevelt National Park is a real gem in the US Parks System.  One of the lesser visited parks in the United States it is a great place to explore without the overcrowding issues you often find at the more well-known parks. The park has a ton to offer, from wonderful landscapes and badlands to wild horses, long horn sheep, bison and prairie dogs. I suppose its remote location in the northwest of North Dakota keeps people away. 

I was fortunate to get to explore this park while having amazing weather. Almost every day I was in the park there were amazing clouds and thunderstorms.  The storms did make it a bit ‘sporting’ at times while trying to create these images. This photo is from Wind Canyon. The entire earth lit up with a soft yellow light as the sun set, something I have never experienced before. The Little Missouri River reflected the clouds that were just retreating from the last storm.
