The wonderful thing about the rain forest in the Pacific Northwest is the weather is constantly changing. As I was making the hike up Sweet Creek Falls the rain would come and go and sometimes for a brief monument the sun would come out here and there. In this case I was able to compose a photo with the river rushing down a narrow valley with the the glow of the sun just upstream. The yellow glow is wonderfully offset by the deep greens of the ferns and moss lower in the picture.
